for Suffragettes Fanzine #7 Especial Mujeres Indómitas, 2020
The Motor Maids of America was the first women’s motorcycle club, founded in 1940 by the brilliant Dot Robinson, the first female motorcyclist. The club is still active today with over 1,300 members from the United States and Canada.
For the Wild Women special, I wanted to pay tribute to this club. The smoke from the motorcycles and the cigarettes mixes into a morning haze, but through it all, the silhouettes of the riders are easily distinguishable.
(esp) Las Motor Maids of America fue el primer club de motos de mujeres, fue fundado en 1940 por la brillante Dot Robinson, la primera mujer motorista. El club actualmente sigue activo con más de 1300 miembros de Estados Unidos y Canadá.
Para el especial de Mujeres Indómitas, quise rendir homenaje a este club. El humo de las motos y de los cigarros se mezclan en una neblina mañana, pero entre todo ello se distinguen fácilmente las siluetas de las motoristas.
